I chose my six cats: a black cat, a gray cat, a white cat, a calico cat, a tabby cat, and a tortoise cat. I was already familiar with the WOpet Patrol from a previous purchase, so I was set to continue with my normal programming techniques. I was able to log in with my account information and access all the food options, set up a reminder on my calendar, and set up a feeder. This was a little confusing for me, but once I did it was really easy and a quick process. I've also had other issues with devices that use Wifi and battery life, so I'm a little cautious.Īfter the schedule was set, I had to add my phone into the WOpet app. Since the feeder is Wi-Fi enabled, I contacted WOpet to see if it was a software or hardware problem, but they said it was not. When my battery died, the feeder didn't turn back on even though I plugged the charger in. The battery lasted just over a year for me in use, which I think is a little short for this feeder. Fortunately, the WOpet website has a good set of training videos that walk you through step-by-step.

I wasn't quite sure how to add food, how to feed portions based on the size of my dog, or how to access the settings. I found the Sprite's navigation panel easy to use once I got used to it, but it did take a little bit of learning to get it right.

The battery is also supposed to last up to 3 years with a single charge. This is done using a combination of facial recognition, GPS location, and a proprietary algorithm called FoodIQ. The Sprite uses WOpet's AI technology to figure out when your dog is hungry and when to feed them. You can also manage your feeders remotely from anywhere with an internet connection. For example, you can see the nutritional info for each food, help videos to show you how to prepare it, and even find where to get a GPS locator collar. The feeder works with the WOpet website, which has a good set of resources to help you get started. The app also lets you set daily, weekly, and monthly reminders to feed your pup, or you can give them the option to learn to feed themselves if you're away too much. The app gives you remote control of the feeder, view feeder status, add meals or change settings, and even opens a virtual door for your pet to access the feeder.

It doesn't have an app, but a viewing app for iOS and Android phones is available for free in the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. It also has a large LCD screen that lets you know how much food is left and the settings you have selected. The feeder has a sleek design and a navigation panel on the front that you can easily see from any angle.
